Welcome to 5th Grade!

Parker's Supply List for the 2013-2014 School Year

 

1 Box colored pencil Twistables (12 count)

2 Red or blue ballpoint pens

5 Single subject composition notebooks - 5 different colors

1 Dozen #2 pencils

1 Package 4-count EXPO dry erase markers - THIN size

2 Large glue sticks

3 Packages of lined Post It notes (4X4)

2 Plastic folders with prongs (fasteners) and pockets

2 Highlighters

1 Zippered 3 ring binder 2inch w/ 3 ring pencil pouch

1 Package of 8 plastic dividers with tabs for subject names and pockets

1 Package of wide ruled notebook paper

1 Pack of Post It Flags that can be written on - ex. Post It Page Markers, 1/2 inchX 1 3/4 inch, idea for Temporary Marking and Noting in Books, Assorted Ultra Colors

1 Recorder for purchase at Murdock school store

1 Old shirt to use a smock for art with name on it and in a Ziplock bag, also with name on it

1 Pocket folder with tabs (any color) for music

1 Package of 9V batteries for PE

 

1 Roll of paper towels - girls

1 Package disinfecting wipes - boys

1 Package wide-ruled notebook paper - girls

1 Box of tissues - boys

 

Please note: Backpacks with no wheels are preferred.

Organization of Classroom Supplies

Feel free to organize classroom supplies at home.  We will also have some time in class to do this.  Supplies are listed in the blog entry prior to/below this one. 

Tissues, paper towels, wipes, one highlighter, one gluestick, dry erase markers, lined Post Its, glue sticks will be stored in general classroom supplies. 

Twistables, art smock (in a Ziplock bag), music folder, and recorder will be stored in each child's classroom cubby.

Other pens, pencils, one glue stick, small Post It tabs, etc. will be stored in each child's pencil pouch.

Composition Notebooks - Label with name and:

1. ELA/Writing Notebook

2. Math Interactive Notebook

3. Social Studies Interactive Notebook

4. Science Interactive Notebook

5. Reading Notebook

Plastic Pocket Folders with Tabs- Label with name and:

1.  Weekly Evaluation Folder

2.  Homework/Daily Folder   

Three Ring Binder - Label with name. One pack of paper can be divided evenly behind each divider.  The tabbed, pocket dividers can be labeled with the following subjects in this order:

Homework/Planner

Book Log

Performance Task/Project

Math

Spelling

Social Studies

Science

Computer Lab
