Homework 8-24-2009

Math:  pw. 1.4 and text p. 15 #10-20

Reading: Read for 20-30min.

Language:  wkb. p. 8, Find from your 20-30min. reading 5 sentences that have compound subjects.  Copy the sentences and circle the subjects and underline the predicate.

WTW:  Monday evening assignment in front cover, define one word and use it in a sentence.

Social Studies: Bill of Rights quiz Thursday 8/27

Homework 8-20-2009

Math:  Order invention dates and create a neat and organized timeline on the graph paper from oldest to most recent invention.  Then use Destiny to research who invented each item.  Place their name next to the invention and date on the back of your timeline.  Remember to practice your facts.

Reading: 20-30min. 

Vocabulary:  Thursday WTW (Words Their Way) assignment.  Students will have to sort the words independently tomorrow.

Social Studies: Have parent letter signed and review p. 102 & 103 (Bill of Rights)  There will be a quiz on these Thursday 8/27.

Science:  wkb. pgs. 10-12 in complete sentences.

Math: practice facts, wkb p. 1.2

Word Study: Finish p. 6 if not completed in class, Wednesday Activity in the front cover of your book.

Language:  Write 5 sentences.  1 exclamatory, 1 interrogative, 1 declarative, 1 imperative and 1 compound sentence using (and).  Within each sentenc underline the simple subject and circle the simple predicate.

Reading: Read 20-30min. and complete concept squares wkst.  Think while you read!

Science: Have your parent letter signed

*27 desktop computers for our school. We now have 3 computers in every classroom, 2 labs, and 6 laptop carts!!

*Individual logins for every student in grades 2-5 for the First In Math program that can be accessed at home as well.
