Don't Lose Those Books!

Murdock students in 2nd - 5th Grades may keep their library books over the holiday break, but please bring them back on January 8th!!

We're asking Kindergarten and 1st Graders to turn their books in BEFORE the break.  Experience shows that our youngest friends have a hard time keeping up with their books during the two-week break.  We'll look forward to seeing them in the new year for book check-outs!

Media Center Lessons 12/10 - 12/21

Real_snowman_2 Kindergarteners are listening to a variety of winter and holiday stories.

1st - 3rd graders are practicing dictionary skills by looking up spelling and definitions for lots of winter objects placed on their tables:  nutcrackers, snowmen, mittens.  They're pretty fast when they use the guide words!

4th and 5th graders are "running" all over the Media Center to find clues in books that help them solve a word scramble.  If they know how to read call numbers, they can find the clues and figure out the holiday phrase.  This is definitely NOT a quiet activity!

Spread Some Warmth

Mittens "Spread Some Warmth" this holiday season by donating a hat, gloves, mittens, or a scarf. Students can bring these items to decorate the Media Center's mitten tree between now and December 21st. All of the hats, scarves, mittens, etc.will then be given to MUST Ministries for children who need them. It's the perfect time of year to bring a little warmth into someone else's life!
