April Showers Bring May Flowers

I don't really see how we could possible have any more showers than we have already had. I am looking forward to some beautiful flowers.

April 4 - 8  SPRING BREAK    

Tuesday, April 12 will be our first day of CRCT.  The children have been working on persuasive writing and they have persuaded me not to assign homework during the testing period. I have encouraged them to continue idependent reading and math fact practice.

Thank you for the treats during Teacher Appreciation Week. The supplies will be added to our class collection. I received candy, flowers, soda, and notepads for my own personal use. The Starbuck's gift card will be used over spring break.  I am enjoying your children and appreciate the tokens of thanks.

Your child has been given CRCT practice workbooks for Math and Reading. Due to the time crunch, I will have to change the homework schedule so that your child will have time to work on these books to cover all skills. By doing this I hope that the children will be more comfortable and relaxed about the testing format come CRCT in April.

I want to thank everyone that participated in the Boosterthon in October.  Your generosity afforded our classroom 10% of the proceeds collected by the children.  With that money, I was able to purchase four Math activity books, fifteen Math Centers for the children to practice their skills, Elapsed time ruler to help the children better determine how much time has past, an "I have, Who has" game for math, Quizmo for time, two social studies based activity books, and a teacher's resource book on Brain Based Strategies. The children enjoy "playing" to learn rather than doing all worksheets. They display many wonderful character traits as they work together in large and small groups.
