Hello Lightning Bugs!
We have had a busy week this week. We had a lesson in the computer lab where we started to learn Power Point.
Author, Eric Litwin, came to visit on Wednesday in addition to the Wright Center coming and teaching us about the Georgia regions.
Finally, we got to make cookies of Georgia with the regions on Friday.
Comint up next week:
Monday - Chik-fil-A day. The cow is coming back, so please bring a complete cow story to school to share. Monday night, please meet at the Eastlake Chik-fil-A at 6:00 pm for our class celebration. We will get a tour, but families will have to provide for their own dining experience if you choose to eat dinner there.
Wednesday we will have a guidance lesson with Mrs. Haskett.
Curriculum update:
Math: Fractions are complete, we will begin decimals next week. Chapter 20 post test on Tuesday.
Keep practicing the math facts and timed tests every night until your child knows it cold.
Spelling: Sort 13 - Contractions. Make sure your child studies spelling every night. Go to spelling city.com to practice online.
Reading/Writing - Informational texts and writing. We are writing letters, next we will write a how to book. In reading, we are learning all of the different aspects of non-fiction books.
Science - regions of Georgia. We are making posters in class that signify the different regions and habitats in Georgia.
Have a great weekend!
