It has been a rough week with all of the sickness going around. We have had fevers and coughing and all sorts of symptoms this week. Remember that you must keep your child home for at least 24 hours after a fever breaks. Hopefully it has run its course and everyone is healthy this week.
Monday - Field trip to Vulcan Quarry postponed due to an accident onsite last week. I will let you know when it is rescheduled.
Tuesday - NO SCHOOL (teacher work day)
Thursday - Media Center, no ALP
Friday - ALP today
Curriculum Briefings:
Math: We are plugging along with learning our multiplication facts. Your child should know these facts backward and forward. PLEASE use flashcards. They should be proficient in 0,1,2,3,4,5,and 10. Start learning 6,7,8 and 9. By the winter break, your child should be proficient in all of the fact to 10x10 as well as the associated division fact. I can't stress how important this is. PLEASE drill these facts with your child daily.
This week we are going to return to elapsed time. We still have some geometry, division, and money to go over for the rest of the 2nd quarter.
ELA - Homophones, antomyns and synonyms.
Writing - We are developing our own fictional narratives.
Social Studies - We are still studying Paul Revere.
