Let's celebrate!
Thank you, Haleigh, for donating two balls to the class for recess. We are also excited to have the Geronimo Stilton books, too. We appreciate you thinking of everyone!
We would also like to thank, John, for bringing snacks in for those busy mornings when we may forget own snack!
This week, Carmen and Thomas were masters with using commas in their writing!
Leanne and Ivan went the extra mile on their math homework! They subtracted decimals to find the correct change and also showed the coins that would be used to count back the change. It was great to see them go beyond the expectation!
Carmen, Noah, and Leanne showed their thinking by underlining evidence to support their answers and writing the paragraph numbers next to the comprehension questions on this week's reading comprehension assignment. Way to go!
This was an exciting week for us with science concepts. We were able to see several Raptores on Wednesday. Ask your child if he or she can tell you some of the adaptations the birds of prey have. We also discussed the habitats of Georgia when the experts from the Wright Center came. It was awesome to see a colorful, floor map of Georgia's habitat regions and place real soil samples on the map. We also got to see real samples of plants and animals that are found in those regions!
School/Family Writing Project
A letter will be coming home, Monday, to explain a family history project that helps families work together in building a community of writers at Murdock. Completed writing projects will be displayed on International Night. Check your child's binder for this exciting information, Monday!
