Our Bear Hallway

Our hallway has been a wonderful area for the Bears to show off their terrific talents! In December our hallway was a candy house, in January it was a bear cave, and now it is decorated in honor of Presidents' Day and to celebrate Clifford.

Rolling Out the Red Carpet Part Deux

    MESF is Rolling Out the Red Carpet at its 4th Annual Gala and Silent Auction!

Date:  Saturday, 3/1/08

Time:  6:00 - 11:00 p.m.

Place:  Sheraton Suites Galleria

Please come and enjoy this wonderful event!  Food, friends, fabulous auction items, and FUN!  This is MESF and Murdock's biggest fundraiser.  All proceeds benefit Murdock students, so help us 'educate, equip, and excel'.

Real bears may be hibernating, but the Star Bears are much too busy for that!  We have had a busy week and we...

• practiced Jj , its sound and how to write it.  We even decoded some words with /j/ and matched them to pictures.
• read and  illustrated a poem about bears
• practiced our sight words... we like to read them with the flashlight on the smartboard.
• practiced  reading rhyming words with the -ed word family
• enjoyed books about penguins and wrote factual stories about them
• practiced coin identification and counting sets to 20
• celebrated the 100th day of school and did lots of counting to 100!
• got a visit from a real dalmation on the 101st day of school.  She was beautiful and we wrote about her.
• went to the Media Center.  Please return books by Tuesday!

I enjoyed meeting with all the Star Bear parents last week and I was proud to brag on all the Star Bears!  Thank you for all of your support and keep those Bears reading and writing!

Murdock's Technology and Art Night is Jan. 31 from 6pm-8pm.
