Fourth and Fifth Grade
In honor of our little green friends, students designed menus for a Frog Restaurant. They created two of each category of food - appetizers, entrees, sides, beverages, and desserts. Some even made a tadpole menu. They were very creative naming and describing their food items.
We ended our unit by holding an "It's not Easy Being Green" Celebration. Students brought in green food - no, not the kind left too long in the refrigerator. We enjoyed Rice Krispie treats shaped liked frogs, green apples, celery and cucumber, grapes, guacomole, mint chocolate chip ice-cream, and even a cake that looked like a dissected frog with its organs exposed. Students were then treated to the Disney movie "The Princess and the Frog." A good time was had by all.
Thanks to all the parents who helped in the preparation of the party foods.
Third Grade
We spent our last day in the Science Lab. Mrs. Kauffmann led us in several experiments with bubbles. We made a bubble wand out of straws and yarn, and had a great time creating bubbles with our homemade wands. We did an awesome experiment where we were able to make geometric shapes from toothpicks and clay to create interesting bubble patterns. The exploding bubble was a highlight of the day.
It was a great ending to a wonderful year.
First Grade
The day finally arrived, and it was time for us to attend Cinderella’s ball. Some of the students were dressed in their fanciest ballroom clothes. We all enjoyed the food and wish to extend a big thank you to the caterers (our first grade parents). While we dined, we also watched Disney’s Cinderella movie. All in all, it was a fun way to wrap up our study of “Stepping into Target.”
To all:
Thank you very much for the cash gift you gave us. It was very much appreciated. We enjoyed teaching your children this year and hope that you have a wonderful summer filled with special family memories.
Until next year...
